"The Center for Nueropotential offers both EMDR and Neurofeedback. I have referred many people to them as there are few practices with expertise in both. The majority of their staff are trained in EMDR. The clinic is spacious and conveniently located. It is becoming a central hub servicing clients seeking both types of therapy on the shoreline."
"I feel really bad saying this because everybody there was so nice, but I didn't feel like the care I received was entirely competent. They had to send out my qEEG to get it interpreted and recieve a protocol recommendation, which confused me a bit, but I figured they just needed to use something like a different technology (Z-score or something, I wouldn't know) to get a better picture of what was going on, which was a setup they might not have had in their office. But later after I told them the protocol they had been training me on didn't seem effective and I wanted to try another site, they were dismissive and disinterested in changing it although I brought it up multiple times. I can't say for sure, but I had sort of a hunch they wouldn't have known what to change it to. Also, their metrics aren't super great because a (really nice) guy just pops in every day and asks you if you notice any changes. You don't do an inventory or anything. This was difficult for me because it's hard for me to self-report (not too in touch with what I'm thinking or feeling, and the results I got were never dramatic enough to be obvious there). It likely would be the same if you sent a child there or an adult with alexithymia or some other similar issue. In general they just don't monitor you, simply let the machine do everything and don't look at it, and don't check in with you very well. None of what they did was something you'd see out of like, a Sebern Fisher level practitioner. So I just sort of lost faith in them, unfortunately. Again, they're really nice people and might be okay for simpler things where you don't need a real expert like moderate ADHD, but if you're there for something like complex trauma, I'd find someone else. I will say that my seizures became better controlled and I lost the majorty of my car anxiety...but that could just as easily be explained by going on Keppra (an anticonvulsant) and pregabalin (an anxiolytic) at about the same time. So. I quit going and started recieving LENS feedback elsewhere in the state. I'm having great results there. I didn't feel like I was making progress at this place at all."
"I highly recommend the Center for NeuroPotential. Being able to consult with Deb Del Vecchio-Scully has been wonderful. The amount of wisdom she manages to share in one consultation hour is incredible. I feel more confident about my use of EMDR and I am able to apply what she has taught me immediately into sessions. I am so grateful for my work with Deb."
"The experienced and highly trained providers at the Center for NeuroPotential are an incredible resource for the medical community of Greater New Haven. They provide an array of critical services for people struggling with mental health disorders in a safe, supportive, and professional manner. Over the years, I have referred my own patients without hesitation knowing that they would be extremely well cared for. As part of a presentation I was working on with Dr. Amy Palmer, she did a QEEG Brain Mapping session for me which was fascinating and illuminating. I was able to experience what it was like to actually have the test, understand the results, and learn how my own brain functions. This allowed me to share that experience with others who I may feel would benefit from taking that first tangible step in understanding their own mental health needs. I highly recommend the Center for NeuroPotential and am grateful for their devotion to their patients and their ongoing commitment to excellence. Dr. Cory DeLise, DAOM, Lic.Ac."
"Not my real name for privacy reasons but Deb is not a trauma specialist but a really good sales person. I spoke to her for an hour and she recommended essential oils and CBD for my trauma! Supplements! She also tried to sell me in very expensive neuro feed back that had little to no evidence of effectiveness. Not worth the $250 an hour. Read self help books, set boundaries and stay away from this place."
