"THE REVIEWS/PICTURES BELOW ARE FOR HOP HAUS BEFORE IT BECAME SALTY DOG. I DID AN ADDITIONAL REVIEW FOR SALTY DOG. SALTY DOG SUCKED!!!!!! DRIVE TO A NEARBY HOP HAUS INSTEAD!!!!!! We sampled 5 appetizers & they were all delicious! Our favorites were the Mai Tai Cauliflower & Pretzel with a cheese ale dipping sauce. The wings were great, both the dry rubbed & sauces. The cocktail menu is simply delicious. I had the Winter Margarita & it was sublime. The only better way to have it would be if it was snowing outside - it transports you to a snowy wonderland! I can't wait to return and try something different! EDIT: So, indeed, we visited again 2 weeks after the above review & again, it was fantastic. So good, we went twice in one day! My husband & I stopped in for lunch. The Bison Burger is so tasty, and so juicy that it drips on your hand. The cheddar grilled cheese with goat cheese, fig spread & bacon was out of this world. I thought I was in heaven. Our server really sold the dessert, so we came back in the evening with our daughter as a treat because she's working so hard in school. Grilled pound cake, Nutella, peanut butter & candied bacon...need I say more. The blueberry lemonade cocktail & the eggnog martini we're phenomenal! Also! Did you know they have a rewards club? It is definitely worth joining!"
"AMAZING! That's the easiest way to describe this place, just amazing. The place has a great decoration, the bar looks fantastic, personnel is really nice and food... omg! Best pulled pork burger I ever had. And not only that, I do recommend having a "poutine" (big bowl of fries loaded with cheese, pulled pork and a tasty gravy) as an entrée, you won't regret it but be careful not no fed up yourself cause you'll need lots of space for the main course. I do really recommend this place!!"
"A great little gem in downtown Plainville! Definitely recommend. There is a HUGE selection of beers (tap, can,and bottle). A decent cocktail menu -- I was able to try something different, a black gin. The bartender was amazing and knowledgable. she discussed the cocktails and turned me on to a new liquor. She was running the bar and several tables on her own. Cocktails were delicious. Reasonable pricing. Food was interesting and I can't wait to try more! We had the stuffed squash blossoms, always amazing, and a truffle Ceasar salad. The truffle was a fabulous addition to a classic. Definitely will be back!"
"Food is always very good, with a good selection of weekly specials (including a different burger and housemade dip served with bread). Beer list is wide and varied, with 20+ taps and 12+ bottles and cans. Staff is amazing, prompt and courteous. Strongly recommend reservations if your party is 6+."
"Great spot in downtown Plainville. Stay away from all those chains down Rt 10 and stop in here for happy hour, a great selection of local beers, and good food. It’s more pub fare style with a large selection rotating local brews. Plus they have a great outdoor patio. The server Eryn was especially fantastic and even remembered us the next time we came in."
