"Do NOT and I repeat do NOT open an account here. The staff is less than professional. The miscommunication amongst staff and bankers is lack there of. This is my second time around dealing with this bank and nope this is why I closed my accounts years ago. Best advice for anyone is to definitely choose one of the other Federal credit Union's. This one is NOT and emphasis NOT to be trusted with your money"
"I been a member at this bank for 20+ years it’s time to started looking for a better bank.I had like $50 in change that was wrapped neatly in $10 quarter change wrapped. She had the nerve to tell me she can only do a certain amount if this is my bank what I look like walking in to Bank of America mind you I’m not even a member and they did it with no problem. Over it it’s time"
"In these hard times when people are struggling to pay for food gas and rent most institutions are eliminating over draft and NSF fees. However Not Hartford Federal instead they continue to charge excessive fees and don't offer help when you are struggling. 35 dollars used to be a weeks worth of groceries or a tank of gas. Not in today's economy. But getting hit with that fee still hurts all the same. Hartford federal will close your account if you can't pay all the fees. Under there own "Benefits of Membership" page they say under "Value" ,"We act in your best interest and use our earnings to benefit our members:... fewer and lower fees,..." They say that but there Fees are Higher than the average now. Many big banks have eliminated Overdraft fees and NSF fees, Like Citibank, Capital One, and Ally. Even Bank of America Eliminated NSF Fees but reduced there Overdraft to $10. Key bank even reduced there fees. Some of these banks lost a $100 million plus revenue stream from this. But they did it to help those who where struggling. Why can't Hartford federal do the same thing? Instead they pray on the those just barely scraping by. Even a single $35 fee hurts. Thats at least 2 hours of work for most of us."
"After reading many negative reviews, I have to say that I had nothing but the best help from Naomi and the lady at the front desk who put me in the wait list to speak with her. This bank was extremely busy but I was in out in timely matter. Suggestion if you are going here is they can get busy don't go on your lunch break and be patient."
"I chose this credit union because I lived very close to it. There were some good individual employees. But, in general, I can't recommend it. The "no cell phones allowed" policy at this branch made me feel like I was a high school student, not a respected family member, and many employees seemed bored or uninterested in their work, exactly the opposite of typical credit union friendliness. I felt like there were an unreasonable number of fees, including one they tried to charge me for writing down my address incorrectly when I opened an account."
