"Basically impossible to get through to a human and schedule an appointment. Has been over a week since left VM with no call back. I sent a message via MyChart with no response. I called 6 different numbers. Nothing! My father’s cardiologist is retiring and he now has no follow-up care. Don’t know how he will get his cardiac medications. Very poor patient care. Will be switching to Hartford Healthcare. If you are looking for a cardiologist recommend you do the same."
"Great group of dedicated professionals. Logged in and was seen immediately. RN and assistant were very polite, great bedside manner, and very professional. Doctor was also very matter of fact, explained everything well, and provided follow up in great detail. Overall a great experience."
"My doctor is excellent but I guess he can ONLY be as good as the other players on his team. I tired to make an appointment and its now a week and no response from Dr. Plavic's assistant. I was away and tried to fill my prescription. I had to wait 3 weeks to get a response after I returned and walked into their office. I would not recommend this place. These people got their spot at yale and they won't get fired. They will shuffle this bad service all through yale untill they retire. Its not about patient care and service. Looking for another doctor."
"Not a friendly group of people. Phone etiquette is horrible at best. Everyone has an attitude and they don't seem to want to be helpful. The system is slow and not well thought out. Try ANYONE ELSE. This program needs to improve 100% just to STINK."
"Patient with them since 2004 when they were a private practice on Washington Ave. Hamden. A number of years ago, this private practice moved to Devine St. North Haven. Within a few years, Yale took over the private practice. In speaking with a nurse about the changes I asked the pros and cons. The pros were: now had state-of-the-art technology. The cons: they were working much longer hours. The phone system has had its ongoing ups and downs. Using MyChart may help some of us patients. I understand but do not know how accurate this hear say is: the doctor is required by Yale to see a certain number of patients daily. If the doctor objects apparently their salary is adjusted at contract time. Delays in response to phone call messages left for nurses seem to be common. I called today to leave a message and the outgoing message did not have the following which it had always had: no request for your name, date of birth, contact information. If you want to go to the trouble of explaining your not-so-great experiences to 'the Yale source about the phone system, find out who is responsible for office management and write or call. I would not be hopeful since the whole practice is now Big Business. And to add insult to injury, your insurance is being charged not only for time spent with doctor but for your physical on-site visit to the premises. Check your insurance paperwork!!! That is why one week prior to your visit you will receive postal mail from YNHH reminding you that you may have to pay out of pocket for some billed items. I can tell you that another new doctor I have who is not part of the YNHH mega business complex responds promptly when I leave a message and has actually called me in the mornings to go over test results. I was in shock to hear from him. Apparently this medical practice takes pride in its responsiveness to the patient. They are not cardiologists."
