"Omg this place is horrible .. if you love yourself or the person that is feeling ill … go anywhere but here . I can’t . This place needs to get shut down . Been here 4 hours .. haven’t seen not one doctor yet . I haven’t even gotten water ! Incredible . Like this is sad . I’ve never given a review and I felt it’s necessary for me to give one now . That’s how bad . This don’t even deserve one star"
"EDIT* 9/21 I had my second surgery and once again nothing but nice things to say!!! Jackie and Jermaine were my nurses and were awesome! I want to thank my doctor Dr.Isaacson for doing my surgery and to the entire staff who works at the ambulatory surgery center. Never once did I not feel safe they made sure I was comfortable and took very good care of me. If you need surgery please do not hesitate these people care about their patients and are very compassionate. I have nothing but good things to say about this hospital. I went in for surgery today (8/31/23) and from the moment I walked in I was greeted by a nurse name Sharon and she was very sweet and calmed my nerves. All the staff are very sweet, compassionate, and caring. I recommend this place for anyone having surgery! My doctor did an amazing job on my foot and I am very pleased. I will be getting another surgery and will come back here 100%! The level of care I received was above and beyond."
"I initially didn’t want to write this review because I am a employee of Mount Vernon Hospital, but I make it a priority to always speak honestly about my health care and my other life experiences I have worked for Mount Vernon hospital for nine years and I have only had to come to this hospital for treatment about three or four times now I live in Mt. Vernon, so I get my primary care here but I am slowly going to talk on my experience from yesterday I went in to the ER about 11 at night they took me in. There was about 4 to 5 patients. It was not busy. I went in because I had an emergency. I fell in my house, trying to go to my bedroom. I couldn’t step on my foot I passed out trying to walk to my bed so I went into the emergency room to see if my foot was broken I went in and I don’t know the nurses name, but she was not very nice. She did not know that I worked for the hospital at the moment. When I went in, I was laying down, and she started throwing all of the things that she needed onto the bed with an attitude. Eventually, I did see a Dr. Lee the doctor was kind, but she did not have the best bedside manner. She did not fully ask me everything that happened. I tried to tell her some of the things that happened in order, but she never even asked me about my foot. She told me I need to give you IV and I need a urine sample and take some blood everything came back normal, but for the urine sample I had to go to the bathroom they did not provide me with a wheelchair. I had to ask a random nurse that was walking around to bring me a wheelchair. The doctor literally wanted me to walk to the bathroom but I wasn’t able to stand on my own. Eventually, I went to go take x-rays.Thank God my boyfriend was with me that he was able to help me onto the bed because the x-ray tech was very nice but he couldn’t help me onto the bed alone they started the IV and the blood work she took out my blood very rough She proceeded to drive the needle in and out of my hand multiple times instead of just trying to try another spot, or finding somebody that was able to find the Vein my whole hand and my arm got bruised up from them, trying to put the needle in and out of my skin multiple times I tried my best to be patient and just take the pain so I could get it over and done with so I never told her she was physically hurting me but she saw that I was uncomfortable but didn’t proceed to try to help me be comfortable they gave me two Tylenol for the pain the doctor comes back and tells me she thinks that I probably passed out because I was hot and that I fractured my foot they gave me crutches but they were too small. They didn’t give me a size that was more comfortable for me the nurse didn’t want to give me an ace band and didn’t give me any sort of shoe or boot to walk home she gave me my discharge papers told me I was able to go home and to follow up with my primary care doctor she didn’t give me any sort of medicine for the pain as I was attempting to walk out one of the Security that knows me told me why didn’t I ask for a wheelchair and I said I shouldn’t have to ask for a wheelchair if you’ve been treating me for 2 to 3 hours the doctor and the nurse should already know I cannot stand they just sent me on my way Eventually he went to the lobby and found me a wheelchair. No one helped me outside then we walked home Mount Vernon Hospital is not a bad hospital. It’s just some of the employees. Do not have good bedside manner. And I feel if you work for a hospital as a nurse, it should not matter if the person works for the hospital or does not work for the hospital. They are still a patient and you are supposed to treat the patients with kindness the EMS workers were so good with me. They helped me get down the stairs of my apartment and got me to the hospital with time to spare I will only be returning to this hospital if I have no other option I would prefer to take my healthcare elsewhere it’s not just the patients that don’t want treatment here. Majority of the employees rather die before coming here for treatment.honestly"
"The staff is very nasty and they are willing to argue with you Carol Wellington wanted to argue because I questioned her about just leaving me in a Hall in a wheelchair knowing that you are sick. Their behavior is hostile When I came in the emergency room at 3am the guy at the front desk was sleeping so hard I had to bang on the walls to wake him and I said are you ready to work now cause you were sleeping. This man said to me so what are you going to do about it. This put you on blast in my review"
"Stay away from this hospital I had went in for a mental breakdown and got admitted their for a month. Their fights between patients and staff in the mental facility daily the staff is rude and childish they kept me in the ward for over a month when I tried to get out after two weeks their care worse then the prison system, floors and rooms are a mess some of the therapists were nice they fed me 6 times a day but food is inedible sometimes undercooked the doctors are dismissive and keep patients their way longer then they should. but over all the worst psychiatric ward experience of my life"
