"Absolutely most inefficient hospital in the New London area. Below average care, no follow up, unprofessional staff and very rude. Probably the filthiest hospital I've ever seen. Medical needles, syringes, bloody materials on the floor. This hospital shouldn't have it's doors open. Staff agrees they have gone downhill since Yale took over. What a shame. Would add photos but your not allowed to take pictures or you will be escorted out. I can see why"
"My late father and his wife have both received care at Lawrence and Memorial over the years. The family has been impressed with the kindness and competency of the staff, who are more interested in honoring the wishes of the patients and providing dignity than in following some "checklist". As my father was clearly not going to recover, and had made his desires known, the staff made him comfortable and also made my family comfortable in the quiet, softly lit hospice room, allowing all of us to hold his hands, and be with him as he peacefully slipped away with a gentle smile on his face."
"I recently brought my husband who has cancer to the ER with complications from Covid. They kept him in the ER for two nights. They claimed they were looking for a bed for him. Finally, on the last night they gave him a room. The ER is a mess- Especially the nurse Jocelyn. She was rude and dismissive. All the nurses stand in their area and gossip. I could hear everything they were saying. I would have given 0 stars, but my husband had two kind nurses. In addition, the patient care coordinator, Drew was amazing!!! This hospital may have Yale New Haven Health on the building. However, they do not work up to Yale New Haven Standards."
"Recently put on supplemental O2 , I was referred to Pulmonary Rehab. I can't say enough good things about the department. Ellie, Brenda, Sandra, Patrick and Stacy are amazing. The kindness , compassion, and humor kept me inspired. I now have life managing skills to make my life as independent as possible. Thank you from my heart to all of them."
"My 10 month old baby was referred here by her primary care for a staph infection. We were sent to the ER where we were forced to wait 7 hours. No pediatric doctor was on staff. 7 hours with a baby. Just for them to finally follow her primary cares order finally. Clearly management needs some serious work. Not to mention when I gave birth I didn't have a nurse for the whole first day. No one came to check on me, which meant no pain medication. This place has gone down the drain."
