"Took my father in law with dementia, diabetes to Emergency room today after urgent care sent us there for a CAT Scan for potential Kidney stone. Place was busy, sat PATIENTLY for 4 1/2 hours. Given my father in laws condition and worried about his blood sugar, simply went to ask the desk where he was on the list in an extremely polite tone knowing it's emergency room and ambulances were arriving......was responded to in a rude and disinterested manner by the girl at the computer. The whole waiting room was tense with the amount of time it was taking, yet the people waiting had a better attitude than this girl. Oddly, there is some type of kindness matters sign in the waiting room too....they should practice what they preach. We ended up leaving due to his condition and dementia not being able tolerate the wait. While anyone can understand an emergency room not being a joyous place and it comes with uncertainty with triage....you should be able to expect compassion and professionalism to your stressful situation. I think the indifference was worse than the rudeness."
"Went to the emergency room for a heart issue at 3am. No one at the desk. Had the guard go and look for someone to help me. Care I received was very unprofessional, to the point of dangerous. I am well familiarized with heart treatment protocols and this place fell far short. Don't go here for anything more than a hangnail if you have a choice. I didn't."
"Today (Sunday 11/12/23) I had a severe asthma attack. Couldn't catch my breath and wheezing so my husband and I drove to Putnam Hospital 40 minutes from our home. We arrived at 2:50 p.m. the registration/check in took no more than 5 minutes. I was taking in immediately. The lady doing the check in was extremely nice. There was others waiting in the waiting room, but they were all waiting for their family member that was already being seen. Michelle the head nurse asked me questions as we walked to a room. Dr. Rodriguez came immediately into the room listened to my lungs and he immediately decided upon a treatment for me. My nurse/RN was Courtney. She ran the tests and did all of the treatments that the doctor ordered. She checked in on me every 5 minutes. I was feeling much better after my treatments so Dr. Rodriguez said I could go home. My prescriptions was called in and I was discharged at 5:40 pm. Excellent! Thank you for the great care and compassion today!"
"I went to the ER for stomach pain . They were professional and took me in quickly . The PA ( Dr. Filak ) was very nice and helpful. The admitting nurse was friendly and reassuring. I want to commend the CT nurse also for being patient with me since I have health anxiety and kept coming out of my room. All in all it was a good experience."
"The staff were rude and incompetent. They turned my uncle away without doing ANY tests. The nurse told him “it was entirely unnecessary that he came in”. The PA refused to refer to ortho. He ended up having a massive infection in his knee that could’ve easily turned septic during the two days after they sent him home. They refused to even run a simple blood test, which would’ve given the diagnosis immediately. They nastily discounted everything we said, and made us feel worse than when we came in. I’m so disgusted with the level of care at this hospital. I hope no one else experiences what my poor uncle went through in their hands."
