"One of the best state parks in CT. Plenty aria for the parking. Boardwalk is very clean with butiful views and if you wizyt the place when is low tide you can walk on send bar all the way to the Island."
"Silver sands is one of my favorite beaches and has been for years. Even on cloudy days, this is a great place to visit, especially if you like hermit crabs and birds. The staff and volunteers maintain the area and keep it free of errant plants and trash, it's become such a great space to visit with young kids. It didn't always have bathrooms and showers, somewhere to get fresh water, French fries or ice cream, a lifeguard station. Pretty much up until a few years ago, it had a few sets of porta potties, a few water spigots for rinsing feet and water fountains that didn't work. Now there's a pier, boardwalk, changing room, water saving toilets, life guard and EMS station you can visit, and a whole spacious beach to spread out on. I'd recommend visiting!"
"I’ve traveled here many times and it’s always beautiful and well-kept! The park has a wonderful boardwalk that is great for getting a lot of exercise. The views of the ocean and marsh are very photogenic while you are walking. My favorite landmark is the large exotic-looking tree growing out of the jetty (the one in my photo)."
"It's a great place to visit and revisit if convenient, since there is a long board walk that extends into Walnut Beach. The area is very scenic and is well maintained."
"This is my favorite place to snorkel, the water is relatively calm and you are able to walk out pretty far during low tide. Cost for out of state residents is $22 Ample parking Rest rooms and porta pottys Food is available and the fries are pretty good. There is a boardwalk that gives access to another beach next to silver sands as well, very easy to walk on I love it here!"
