"For the first time in my 20 years of living in Yonkers, I went to the Y MCA. I entered in search of lifeguard training. I was pleasantly surprised to tour the facility and interact with extremely friendly and accommodating staff. This location has it all. A computer, a printer, a game room, a weight room, and a basketball court are all available. I enrolled my son in the program, and he attends three times per week. It is spotless. My son also attends a seminar about college and anything else that young kids are interested in on Friday. It's the ideal setting for our children to stay out of trouble. I'm glad I came across this wonderful place. reina"

"The programs are wonderful, and some of the employees are wonderful, however, I digress. As other reviews indicate, the stench is repulsive! When it's not the dreadful scent of smoke, weed, or e-cigarette vape, its the dank smell of bleach and the body odor of athletes. I know the athletes are impressive and skillful, but please take a shower, or at least put some deodorant on! The building is very old, and I would take caution going into the "handball court." The "walls" of the "handball court" are a joke, because the walls' paint peels off! Finally, let me advise new members about this YMCA's feature that will make or break your experience; the receptionist! For those who are members at "Y," you know whom I'm talking about. It is of course the bald, and near-sighted receptionist whom always has a smirk on their face. This person always talks to people in a condescending tone, and is very unprofessional. Even if this YMCA resides in an economically poor location, does not give this person the right to treat others as such."
