"Great hiking and beach spot near the end of the state park. The location is on the site of the former Midway Railyard and the trails make up the former path the train tracks used to be. Pieces of coal from the train bunkers, the old bridges, the round house and its turntable are still able to be found if you know where to look just off the parking lot. Lots of history at this location. For aviation enthusiasts, this park has a perfect vantage point to watch the arriving and departing aircraft from Groton-New Londonn Airport (ICAO: KGON). There is a lot of VIP and planes that arrive. Often the President, Vice President and other officials and their big aircraft including military will land here often."
"Love the trails here, the scenic views and the ability to have a cookout. Bluff point is one of our favorite places to take an easy hike."
"What a hidden gem! Great biking but a bit rocky so be careful and go slow rocks blend with dirt path. Nice beach on trail, very private"
"Beautiful park with a variety of things to explore and enjoy for both humans and their companions! I love the variety of people, children, athletes, hikers, equestrians, dog owners, and more who visit the park along with the seemingly never ending trail options. Every visit is different at Bluff but I always leave with a good experience. I greatly appreciate the strong enforcement of leash laws, making it a reliable location for all dog owners to visit."
"The Good Lord told me to take a trip out here and I absolutely loved it. He gave me the strength to get 20 miles in on the bike despite having 4 herniated discs in my lower back. Awesome trails, plenty of clean toilets, a beach, picnic tables and beautiful views. So many wonderful memories to be had here, a must for anyone visiting the area. God gets all the Glory, thanks and praise for this beautiful universe he has created."
