"Using the athletic center is like stepping back into the 1960s with little to no maintenance or upgrades in the last 30-40 years. I have heard that UConn is simply not committed to providing appropriate funds to maintain their facilities at UConn or UConn Avery Point. The condition of the UConn Avery Point athletic center is a clear example of this lack of commitment. Oddly, UConn's athletics department (Storrs and regional campuses) lost $47 million in the last fiscal year. Where is all the money going? It certainly isn't going into the UConn Avery Point athletic center."
