Reviews
"We just had our National Association of Marine Surveyors conference there, amazing place and views definitely worth visiting or holding a meeting for your group."
"The overall rating for the museum complex is much higher, but as an individual choice at this particular building... mistakes were made and a low-star review is required. The facility itself is pleasant. Clean, cool on hot day and the staff is friendly and helpful. The main detriment: Oceanus. As the major display of this small museum space, this was a poor choice. The theme is understandable enough, art (including a huge mural) depicting local ocean biomes and the ships that navigated out of the area throughout the seaport's history... but the art itself was downright cringeworthy. It's reminiscent of a monied somebody commissioning a piece from a popular artist, having delivered a poor and amateurish product, but putting it on display anyway as they spent so much money on it. It's just not good art. Hopefully, the management here will make better choices in the future with the "art" they put on display."
"North entrance to the seaport museum. Museum itself is really great. It feels like you are lost in a historical sail town. A lot of ships which you can explore, a lot of buildings where you can get touch with the history, a lot of fun activities for kids. The museum even has a small planetarium (which requires additional tickets for the shows), a cruise which was very informative (and you need to buy additional tickets as well) and a small lighthouse with a very nice video list."
"This building is part of the Mystic Seaport Museum grounds. It is a small but spacious place to hold a good sized venue. We visited yesterday to see the last day the J.M.W. Turner Watercolors From Tate exhibit was shown. Crowds were manageable with maybe a fifteen minute wait to get in. Outside, visitors could look at historic replicas of town buildings and clipper ships."
"Very accessable, simple layout, convenient parking. Saw the Turner watercolor show, so beautiful. Monday through Wednesday is less expensive than the rest of the week."
