"Elizabeth Park is a beautiful, magical place! Great for a family stroll, for families to gather, friends to meet, weddings to occur (I proudly officiated a wedding in the hut in the center of the rose garden)! There are multiple locations throughout this big park to visit and enjoy where you will find a sense of peace and calm on a hot summer, a warm spring, or a cool winters day! Definitely go take a stroll, especially when the roses and all the beautiful plants and flowers park wide are in bloom! ( : you will be happy you did. Definitely get an ice cream too and sit on the nearby benches, pond side and enjoy the view! ( :"
"This a very beautiful garden visually offering some wonderful moments of peace in the heart of the city of Hartford in Connecticut. We visited in the latter half of October and cold weather had set in , yet we got to see some beautiful roses in a variety of colors. The arches created had withered away but were still looking in decent shape."
"TL:DR It's welcoming place in any weather. It does get crowded in some seasons more than others. Pond Cafe has decent offerings and you will return home happy when you visit here and spend a day. The park has many gardens, sweeping vistas, notable trees, and greenhouses. It also has a restaurant nestled among the foliage. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk. Parking is available on most days, but fills up quickly for events and concerts. The park has two walking loops: Western Loop: About 0.6 miles long Park Loop: About one mile long, beginning and ending at the Ethel Donaghue stone entrance on Prospect The roses bloom until early fall. The annuals bloom from June until the first frost. The heritage roses bloom once in early June. The perennial and shade gardens bloom at various times between late May and September. Some background Elizabeth Park is a 102-acre (41 ha) city park in Hartford and West Hartford, Connecticut. It's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The park is home to America's oldest public rose garden, which opened in 1904. Elizabeth Park opened to the public in 1897. Charles Pond donated his estate to the City of Hartford in 1894, and the park was named in honor of his wife, Elizabeth."
"A beautiful park, even in late summer when many flowers were past their peak. A nice gift shop, good clean restrooms and picnic tables for those who like to enjoy lunch in the park, additionally there is a beautiful pond teeming with ducks and geese. Many benches line the pond and in the rose gardens. Plenty of space to enjoy nature's beauty. Highly recommended!"
"I loved the energy of this great place... very special, very beautiful flowers, a lot of peace. A perfect place to go as a family or as a couple or in the company of your pet. It made me very happy to walk surrounded by flowers, beautiful trees and beautiful medicinal plants. Thank you for creating such special and natural places like this."
