"Read the reviews!!!!!!! Rudeness runs deep! I was not planning on doing this but after several conversations with friends and family about my experience, I’m here… This place treated me as if I was a woman from 1950 who didn’t know the difference between jello and a Chocolate bar. I called about an item I had been looking for. They told me they had it, but could not pull it ahead of time. I told them I would come in and I’ll be there shortly. Once I got there they did not have the product they said they did on the phone. They tried to sell me an item that was 4 sizes too large and with a price increase compared to what the brand's website had it listed for. The truth and the reason I’m writing this was the rudeness I received from what appeared to be the owner. I ask if they had demo skis and snowboards he told me we don’t ‘ cater to those people’ I was shocked by his rudeness. I said what do you mean— he said in a family of 5 maybe one person will be a snowboarder. I then explained that I was looking for a full set up of skis as I was planning on doing both when I travel. he got rude and judged. He could not understand why I wanted a pair of skis or why I was interested in the technical details of some of the products. I kindly explained that I skied for 15 years before I started snowboarding and now I do both. At that point, he told me he didn’t have time to help me and walked away to help a man who was buying gloves."
"I was not going to review until this last straw! Winter 2021-2022 I rented seasonal skis and boots from this ‘lovely’ establishment. When I went in for sizing I told them I was a brand-new, never-done-it before skier. They measured my foot and pulled out some boots. He told me to try them on… then walked away for 15 minutes. When he finally returned, he asked how they felt. I told him I have no idea because I’ve never worn ski boots before. He told me they should be good and sent me to the ski guy. The ski guy held up some skis, asked what I thought, and I told him I had no idea as I’ve never skied before. He told me those should do. Starting ski lessons, my instructor told me that the skis were a little too short for my height but I could work with them. Weeks into lessons I could not get enough pressure on the front of the boot - instructor figured out it was because the boot was WAY too flexible and big. I skied half of the season on them and felt like I never had control or confidence. I was sized at Okemo and bought gear. My skis are much longer than those I rented; my boots are 2 sizes smaller than those rented. I returned my rentals on time. Now fast forward to November 2022. I get a phone call saying I never returned the gear. I call them back with proof of my return and it’s marked in the system. I then tell him that this was the cherry on the cake for terrible customer service. I heard him go “oh my godddd” under his breath. Then, with a nasty attitude, he goes “are you woman who thought she was going to die from the poles?” (I was not but I was offended for this woman from how he said it). I told him exactly how wrong everything went in the rental process and he basically tells me I’m wrong. Not worth the time, money, or hassle."
"Excellent experience - staff was really easy to work with, and knowledgeable. Totally helped me get ski rentals for myself and my daughter in a pinch (and at the end of the day!). Would definitely recommend. Thank you Gio!"
"Bought a helmet for my son, with the assurance that could exchange or refund, no questions asked if the helmet did not fit. I brought the helmet back within the period required( despite a crazy set if snowstorms and driving conditions), and Gio refused to refund or exchange for a different size. The helmet was sold with no box, and due to low inventory, he simply handed me a helmet from the sales floor. Bad on me for not examining it prior or believing his claims of “you paid full price, no problem.” My child did not wear the helmet, so there was no way to have the dents/scratches he alleges during simply trying on the helmet at home. The tags were off, that’s true, the scratches/dents were probably present at original sale and I did not notice. I brought the helmet back in another box, because one had not been provided at time of sale. So happy to see that Gio, and Ski and Sport of Westport is so diligent about responding to online reviews when that energy could be used in actually providing a modicum of customer service. Go elsewhere, blatant bait and switch."
"Knowledgeable staff, Fairfield county locals since the 70's by far the best ski tuning and rentals in town. They listen and meet your needs. They carry AT gear and can get anything you need within the week if it isn't in stock. Worth poking your head in of you've never been. Oh summertime has workout, beach, hike, tennis, and cycling. The only BMX crew I trust."
