"Took my giant Bernese Mountain Dog Jax today to see Mary after 6 months of limited grooming (as Jax had outgrown mobile grooming) Jax was a covid puppy that has had minimal interaction with outsiders and never has been to a groomer. His etiquette was less than desirable. He wouldn't even get out of the car when we arrived. He slipped his harness off and was not getting interested in getting groomed. Mary came out lead in hand and asked if she could help. I couldn't believe my eyes when she was able to get him to get out of the car without force. I immediately knew she was an expert in her craft. She walked him into the office and got him on the table in minutes. She looked at me and said, we are not grooming him today, but I am going to teach you how we will get Jax to understand the expectations and tolerate grooming. She spent an hour walking me through what I needed to do with him everyday as she trimmed his feet and cut his nails. She showed me how to brush him and care for his skin. She showed me the tools & techniques I should use which included throwing away his harness (that didn't work anyway, lol). We set up a plan to get my favorite friend on the planet to behave accordingly to the situation. Mary is more than a groomer. She is a people trainer that truly knows how to care for anim. I have stressed for months in how to take care of his coat and stubbornness. She gave me hope and an action plan to lead Jax and I into a happier, healthier relationship. We will be going back every few weeks to build up to a bath and full groom. He is not clean here yet, picture is for impact. Thank you Mary! You made my heart right today."
