"Nice friendly couple. $149/night. Laundry $5/load. Rides $3 mile. Tiny showers. Thin walls."
"Made the reservation online. When we showed up, was told the reservation was cancelled because the online company was "slow to pay". Was told I had to pay again. I did, and disputed the charge since I had all the paperwork from the first reservation. Also was told she had called and talked to me a week prior, to which I explained that I would not have driven 3 hours to a non existent reservation!!!! Was told she would assist in getting the refund. Needless to say once I paid, she was a ghost. There were 2 other couples at the party staying there that she did the same thing to. Room wasn't bad, very small but ok. Except for the choking scent of cinnamon raisin cookies. It took a while to find the plug in that was wide open. Shut that down quick. Wouldn't stay there again seeing as theres a lot of nice fields to stay in, lol."
"We stayed one night at Hitching Post Country Motel while passing through the area with our dog. Room was small but clean and comfortable and the bathroom was fine. WiFi worked in the evening but was out in the morning. The location is nice, very close to Kent Falls and the covered bridge. There was country store next door to get breakfast from. Nothing fancy here, but it was a dog friendly room and fine for one night. Wouldn't want to stay here for an extended time."
"We were looking for a basic motel to stay in as we section hiked the CT AT. This suited our needs perfectly. To be honest, we were concerned because there are some negative reviews but all the other lodging options in the area are quite expensive. What we experienced: the rooms are clean, the air conditioning works very well and the beds are very comfortable. But also, the rooms are very small (it's an old motel) with a small bathroom that has a small staff shower. The sink is outside the bathroom in an old large closet that has the doors removed. The rooms have large TVs, large size dorm refrigerators and there is wifi. We did encounter some problems (shower knob was loose and did not work, sink was not draining, wifi was not working) but the owners were very responsive when we told them and took care of things for us. We spent five nights there, having to switch rooms for the last two nights as they could not get the sink un-clogged. This motel worked out very well for our needs, in spite of the problems. The owners were kind, friendly, and helpful. The motel seems overpriced but when you see how much more expensive the rooms are at other area lodging the prices make sense. I would recommend booking directly with the motel by calling them rather than booking from an outside source - the price is the same. They do have a limited discount which they will explain if you ask them about it."
