"I've been going to ShopRite for about a year now. I previously was shopping at Aldi and Big y. I like ShopRite better, they have great prices, a clean store and helpful staff. Even their non-sale items are a better price than the competition."
"We prefer this store generally because this is where we do weekly grocery shopping for decent sales (we do price comparisons from store-to-store before we do shopping and ShopRite seems to be the winner on sales and special deals). The guys at the Deli Dept. slice up high-quality deli for us that we use to make sandwiches. You may be able to catch a great deal for a lobster at the Seafood Dept. Ground Meats in the Butcher area aren't that bad on portioning and pricing. Produce is stocked well. Bakery is alright. The bread aisle isn't as interesting as other aisles because of the lack of selection of bread that we enjoy using based on decent prices and brand quality. The employees are caring people to work for to help make your shopping experiences easier. ShopRite surpasses Stop & Shop as probably the best supermarket that we've visited in town. P.S. The Deli Depts at other locations in East Hartford and Manchester right now are short-staffed and close earlier than our location. Ours is open late nights too!"
"Great experience, digitally loaded the sale items and breezed through. The cashier was helpful and friendly. The store was clean and will be back. 11/04/23 I came to buy some items including sweet potatoes which were on sale for .79/lb. After paying for my groceries I noticed I was charged for Red Potatoes which were considerably more in price. The cashier should have known the difference and I was off to the courtesy booth for a refund of the difference, not happy."
"We can get fresh vegetables and fruits, and meat and more"
"While the staff was friendly, and the store was clean, the sign for facial recognition was off to the corner, where you couldn’t really see it. I went in looking for the sign and it took me time to find it! The store uses facial recognition at various locations within the store. If this was simply for theft purposes, and internally it would be understandable. Not great, but understandable. They don’t use just use models to people detect but facial recognition. I saw no signs for where the cameras we’re detecting, but I was only there for a few minutes getting an orange juice. Think about what you’re doing ShopRite. Are you a grocery store or a communications/data company? I would like to see a little more transparency by ShopRite, as to how they actually use the data from the facial recognition. The only thing we know is from the news and they said that ShopRite is sharing that data with law-enforcement."
