"This staff is truly WONDERFUL! They care very deeply about the animals in their care and each of them are dedicated to helping animals to the highest degree. Now this is a EMERGENCY Hospital and 24hours so it's not cheap and you should be prepared for the expense that comes w emergency care in order to save your animals life or better it in the way most needed. But I wouldn't have changed a thing about choosing VCA as they saved my amazingly wonderful cat who is like my child. My wife and I LOVE VCA and it's whole Staff! Thank you VCA for being Amazing!!!"
"Brought my old dog to be seen. Have not been to this vet but he came recommended by others that go there. I asked him to check his ears, clip his nails and take a blood test to see if he was diabetic. ( was peeing a lot lately) The front desk woman came and said she would come back with my bill. $448.00 later they billed me for visit, nails, ear medicine, blood draw, chemical blood , (heartworm and fecal test as well, without asking me). Guess I should have made it perfectly clear that I only wanted what I came for. The front desk person came in again after I was ready to leave with my receipt, handed me a poop tube, said she wouldn't give this to me to take unless it was already paid for, which she said it was in my bill. There will be no other charges. Received a charge on my credit card 2 days later for $45.00, for what I have no idea. (I didn't drop the poop sample off until 5 days later). Just be aware, you need to let them know what you want done and that no other surprise bills will be paid for."
"I called them and told them that I was going to be few minutes late They said that okay 3 minutes before I got there they called me and say the doctor cannot wait for you he wants to leave My appointment was 12:00pm I was late 17 minutes He refused to see my 3 months puppy that had to see the vet very urgent and they know that because I have told them so . Never going back there !!!! Awful experience !! This place donโt care for pets !"
"My dog had a chip injected few days ago in this office and after that he had not feel good, became weak, lost appetite and energy, and my wife brought him back to this office to check his conditions as a follow up visit. She did not ask for any procedures, just to get him checked since he didn't feel good. She explained it to nurse, then the doctor came in, he made a some medicine injection, then they took a blood for test. Again, my wife didn't ask for any of these procedures and they neither asked her permission, nor explained her how much it would cost. At the end, she was asked to pay around $540 for all the services provided. We were quite unhappy with this approach, but agreed to pay for office visit, injection and some medication given to us that came up to $248. What was most confusing is that at the end of the visit doctor said that he didn't find anything wrong w/ dog. Why not to make examination 1st, then tell us if the dog is ok and only after that ASK (ask is a key word here) us if we want to do additional services like injections, blood test, etc.??? And only after we AGREE, make it happen.... Everything was done in opposite way and I am absolutely NOT ok with such an approach... We had scheduled series of appointments for our cats (2x) and dog with this office, but after such an experience not sure if going to visit this place again."
"Dr. Shapiro is the best Vet in CT. Takes great care of his patients and knows his stuff. My dogs were misdiagnosed by 2 different vets racking up bills for over a year. Dr. Shapiro took one look at them and new the problem instantly. Staff is friendly, prices are fair"
