The Farming is at your doorstep with free-range chickens playing host. Great fire pit by the river...can't get any greater...2 eighty year olds"

"We stayed here for a staycation getaway! Just wanted to get away, without going too far! What a gem of a place this is!! Beautiful location on the river, and lovely lodge style interior. Cozy, clean rooms, clean private bathrooms and comfy beds! The main community room in the lodge has a rustic atmosphere and is spacious with the vaulted ceiling and windows! It’s not just a fisherman/woman’s lodge! If you are looking for a unique and clean place to have as a base for hiking, autumn leaf sighting, antique shopping, fishing, or just want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life ~ this fits all your needs! Wonderful large deck to sit and enjoy your favourite beverage in the evening and coffee in the morning! Breakfast is ample yogurts, granola, fresh eggs, fruit, and breads! Delicious coffee to brew and cream in the fridge! We enjoyed a wonderful dinner in nearby Winsted and were able to use the fridge in the lodge to keep our leftover to bring home, as we live nearby. The owners are lovely and down to earth. I would highly recommend this place to out of town visitors, and to anyone local who just needs to unplug for a night or two! All around fantastic experience! We will be back!"

"If you want a quiet place, this is for you. Beautiful B&B in beautiful surroundings. It was very quiet. We were staying there while visiting my sister who lives nearby, so we weren't there much. It is mostly visited by people who are fishing. We hardly saw any people, which was not bad, just unusual. Everything was clean and nice. The whole area is beautiful. We didn't get to partake in the breakfast, but it looked good. Note that it's a continental breakfast, so it's not eggs and bacon, etc. I believe they had home made coffee cake and they did have hard boiled free range eggs from chickens on the property. I would definitely stay again."

"Really lovely stay here. We are not fly fishermen/women but thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful view and serene setting. Three sisters had a very comfortable stay here before picking up a teenager from summer camp nearby. Sal gave us great tips on where to do some errands and local dining. He also went above and beyond to help us out with an issue with our car...in the heat of a very hot summer late afternoon. The lodge is impeccably clean. Breakfast was a treat! Coffee was stellar, and Erin's flowers are stunning! Nice people!"

"My wife and I have fallen in love with Legends. The accommodations are beautiful and sit along the banks of the Farmington River. Sal, the owner, was extremely hospitable and knowledgeable about the area (including the local trout population). Make sure to try the breakfast cake, it was delicious. Legends is one of a kind and we will be sure to return!"
