"The stylists are nice and the salon is very clean and well decorated. I have been there three times and the stylist who cut my hair did great the first two times. However, my third visit was less than a great experience. I showed the hairdresser a picture of what I wanted and unfortunately it is not what I received. My hair was cut way too short. and not properly. The owner did try to fix it, which she did a little, but it did not remedy the fact that my hair was cut too short. Many stylists stated that my hair was longer than the photo I showed her which is untrue. I have very curly hair and one thing to note is that my hair is ALWAYS shorter when it is curly vs when it is straight. I had hair almost down to my waist and when it curled it shortened about two inches to where it would sit about an inch below the middle of my back. In the photo the models hair was DRY and CURLY and sat on top of her shoulders, not the nape of her neck. So by my knowledge of having naturally curly hair, that models hair would be somewhat PAST her shoulders when straightened. Furthermore her bangs were a bit below her eyebrows NOT ABOVE which are where mine are currently after the haircut. I hold no ill will towards any of the stylists. But I would like some recognition and accountability from the establishment that the stylist made a big mistake that lead to me having to deal with a haircut that I dislike for my 22nd birthday. I understand that everyone has off days, i am no stranger to them . If a stylist is not familiar with THICK, ETHNIC, CURLY HAIR or doesn’t feel entirely confident in doing a style on that type of hair then they need to be forthcoming with that information. Everyone has to learn but no one can begin to learn unless they admit that they need more experience and practice. I also felt that the stylist who fixed my hair seemed to insinuate that I do not know how to take care of my own hair type or understand it despite it being the only hair I have ever had in my entire life. I understand wanting to support the employees that work under you but being supportive does not mean being ignorant to the fact that a big mistake occurred and trying to convince the client that haircut is “good” when it is clearly not. I would not have been upset if someone at the establishment admitted the haircut was not great. In fact, I would have preferred that someone acknowledged my feelings and apologized for my upsetting experience. Unfortunately I will NOT be returning to this establishment but I wish all the stylists the best and hope they continue to perfect their craft."
