Reviews
"A review from a Texan and a Tejana: it's probably the best Mexican food you can get in Connecticut. We ordered the chicken and steak fajitas which came with a huge portion of vegetables and three flour tortillas. The chips and salsa combo with guac and queso was great. Come prepared to wait for seating, and don't come with large parties unless you want to wait forever or split up into groups of 4/5. I recommend showing up before the place opens to get in first. We arrived at 12:40 on Sunday and were seated immediately at 1 when they opened."
"Gem in South Glastonbury. This locally owned Mexican restaurant is always busy and for good reason! A wonderful play on traditional Mexican dishes, with many traditional dishes and others with some new, fun or modern twists. They don’t take reservations so get there early or prepare to wait! The wait is worth it. Although the location is not very big, it gives a nice intimate vibe. Service has always been great. Drinks from the bar are delicious, many bartenders are knowledgeable about what they serve. I personally am a big fan of tequila and mezcals so this is usually what I gravitate towards. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or ask for recommendations. This is one of our favorite spots that we frequent."
"Went at 5pm on a saturday hoping that there wouldn't be much of a wait, and was a little turned off that we were quoted a wait time of about an hour. We were seated after about 45 minutes and let me tell you, the wait was worth it. The food and drinks were delicious, the service was very attentive but not overly burdensome, and the atmosphere was lively. I would say that if you are hoping for a more quiet/intimate dinner experience, this is probably not the best place to go because the bar area is popular for people waiting to be seated and it can get a little loud. Otherwise, I highly recommend and will definitely be back."
"This place is a local favorite. Always very busy, often with a line out the door. They are very accommodating to that as they will call you when your table is ready. The food is authentic style and out of this world amazing. Atmosphere is really nice with a few rooms, a bar and nice outside sitting area."
"I am honestly shocked by how little I liked this restaurant. I was excited to go and we were celebrating. After over an hour wait we got sat and ordered the chips and guac with queso and salsa flight to start along with drinks. My drink order was wrong but it was still decent enough so I drank it, the chips and various dips were decent, but just okay. For the cost and given the load of good reviews I expected really good to great, not just average at best. I got the Chop salad and my date got a Burrito. The salad was decent but the Toppings were almost non-existent I think there were like 3 tomato halves, 2 Crispy tortilla topping bits, and like 10 black beans. They gave a decent amount of Avocado (like 1/3 I'd say which is alright). For a $90 bill I'm pretty disappointed, I wish I'd send my drink back to get the right one or asked it be taken off the bill."
