"This place is WONDERFUL! I came here after a terrible experience with Petco. This store is much further from my house. This store had a more limited amount of business hours but I'd give them my business every single time because they are just great! Today the person who assisted me did a thorough water test for me and explained the levels, she showed me different fish and plants that would work for my tank size. No matter the question I was met with a pleasant response from a knowledgeable person (I should also mention my toddler was running around the store excited about the fish while we chatted and the salesperson followed me around while I followed my son around so our conversation didn't get disrupted)! I left with a beta fish that my sons really love and I will definitely be back for all my aquarium related purchases! What a great experience!"
"We have come here a few times. Thankfully we know enought about saltwater to skate us by but we're still a few years in so dont know nearly enough but people at the local stores help us tremendously. The first time back in the spring the gentleman was very me me me, my tank. we talked for a while very nice conversation but we soon noticed alot of b***s**** about things being sold unless he's owned it he didn't really have an idea so he made up info about things. that made us vear to the fresh side so we didnt mess our tank up. Coming back this past Saturday 9/2 we went back and was interested in a small green carpet (we only have a bubble and a long tentacle so we know our tank can home them just unfamiliar with each kind) this was the same gentleman and an older gentleman whos been in the reef businessfor 15 yrs? we were told it came from his tank it's great just got to big for his the only issue is they're sticky. We were on the fence so we planned on thinking it out and coming back the next day. While there we saw a bright neon green anemone in a basket next to a bubble. We asked what it was and both of them kind of just looked at each other and said it's supposed to be a hatian pink tip but they were confused because its "not the right coloring" from the distribution. We've never heard of this kind before so we asked them are they okay to put in our tank after talking with them about everything for over 35 minutes knowing what we have already, they both said it's fine! Just a Florida type. So we picked him up. Got it home put it in the tank It was fine footed opened right up. We went out to a store in wallingford that has helped us out our whole saltwater way and asked him about carpets green in particular he told us they are very aggressive will not split just grow and does and will eat other fish. We were bummed the gentleman didn't inform us of this, and we also showed him a photo of the "hatian pink" he told us it is a Haitin just a neon green Haitian and that it's the same name just scientific for a condy. We knew about condy anemones, he told us what we knew, they're a bad reef anemone they sting everything and can eat even clowns. We were very upset at this because the gentleman of 15 plus years instead of informing us they just made a good story for a quick sale. We got home and moved the nem into a basket the wallingford store gave us but while on the couch that night 3 of our fish ended up being stung still by it so we moved it up once again and it ended up moving and went into the power head over night....nuking the tank....we just wished the 2 gentleman would have been honest with us since we asked 100's of questions about it before buying it..we would have gone with what was best which is what they played everything out to be but now we have to completely stat over our tank beacuse "a Haitian is a great reef addition" but they knew it was a condy and knew what it was capable of but only wanted a sale and neglected to tell us."
"Allie is very helpful and sweet.they have great communication through their Facebook messenger. They let me pick my own betta when they were at the distributor. The fact that the staff went all out to meet customer service means a lot! I got my bettas and plants here. I would definitely recommend to anyone getting into aquarium life."
"Awesome place! I was very excited about the nano fish selection, there were CPDs, chili rasboras, green rasboras and more that I hadn't seen in other fish stores. All the fish looked very healthy and happy. I'll definitely be shopping here again, and I'm excited to have such a nice fish store nearby"
"I’ve been going here for several years and the service and livestock quality is always top notch. I’m an experienced aquarist (saltwater, freshwater, planted, reef) and his stock is always vibrant and healthy. Recently custom ordered some juvenile discus and they are beautiful and healthy (pics included). Quality store setup with custom plumped saltwater systems and a nice coral frag tank. A+ highly recommend!"
