"For the most part this was a good, convenient hotel. It isn't upscale or full of ammenities, but it does the job for a money saving stop with decent rooms. They're pet friendly and the pet fee is on the cheaper side, only $15, which is so nice. Finding hotels for pets that charge under $20 is really hard to do now days! I still wish pets weren't charged unless they caused issues but at least this fee wasn't overbearing here!"

"For the most part about what we expected for a budget hotel, but with a few extra minuses so we cannot give a five-star rating. The room was comfortable and met our basic needs. The hotel was indeed clean and we did not bring home any bed bugs. There was a continental breakfast, which was definitely appreciated even if it was not satisfying. The staff was friendly and polite and able to answer questions. No in-house gym, but we did get passes to an awesome local chain called Edge Fitness. It was worth the five minute trip down the road. Back at the hotel our bathroom had all the necessary amenities, but the toilet flush was loud enough to wake the dead and the shower water did not stay hot long. But hey, good for water conservation. There was a surprise $100 returnable deposit fee, but we have not seen the funds at the bank yet. We are keeping an open mind since it has been only three business days and it is Thanksgiving week. On our next trip to Connecticut if the only objective is to save money Microtel would not be the worse choice, especially if we get to use Edge Fitness again. But if we want longer showers, a better breakfast bar, and no down payment, we will go elsewhere."

"I booked a queen room what I got was a full, I was told it was a queen full but as a mover for 20 years I can tell you there's no such thing lol there's twin, full, queen, king They were very good about it refunded my money no problems at all. The room was also surprisingly tiny, my wife and I drive a truck cross country together 24/7 for weeks when we get out of the truck she wants me as far away as possible and this room wasn't possible. Really glad we got out of this room, we ended up with a beautiful studio apartment in Newtown for twenty bucks less on airbnb. So ya, just know you're going to be cramped, if I was by myself I probably would have stayed."

"The rooms were very clean but a little outdated and worn in some areas. Linens were clean and fresh. The free breakfast was nothing special. I did not like the fact that they put a $100 hold on my credit card that took about a week for them to remove. There is no elevator and they put people on the second floor first maybe for security reasons. The location is good for that part of Connecticut"

"I left just star ratings the first time here, need to update. Still 5 stars across the board. Been here multiple times and still 5 stars across the board. When I stay the ladies that take care of the rooms always have a smile always with a greeting. Front desk always available. Coffee available any hour of the night, unless I drink it all. Have dealings with the UK. So after why I prefer this place, price,hospitality and you get what you pay for. Plus literally next door Noir. Lebanese restaurant, village pizza both have great food. Just a little walk 7/11. Stony diner across the street. La Quinta does have a real breakfast ( sausage, eggs and waffles ) and a restaurant connected with excellent food, ( Don't need to ask for extra cheese. ) But you pay for it. So if you just want a night or 2. You can't beat Microtel."
