Pukehina Surf Rescue
About the Business
Welcome to Pukehina Surf Rescue, located at Pukehina Parade in beautiful New Zealand. As an establishment and point of interest, we take great pride in being a vital part of the local community. Our institution is not just a school, but a dedicated team of lifeguards committed to ensuring the safety of beachgoers.
Operating on Sundays from 10am to 4:30pm between 13th November 2022 and 4th December 2022, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4:30pm from 10th December 2022 to 5th March 2023, our lifeguards are always on duty, ready to assist and protect. We remind everyone to swim between the patrol flags for their own safety.
We are proud to announce that our team has received prestigious awards at the Bay of Plenty & Coromandel Awards of Excellence 2022. Zoe Riv was recognized as Patrol Captain of the Year, Boyd Harris as Examiner of the Year, and Luca Delmer as Regional Lifeguard of the Year. These accolades reflect the dedication and professionalism of our team.
At Pukehina Surf Rescue, we value the spirit of volunteerism and welcome inquiries from individuals who wish to contribute to our cause. Our volunteer lifeguards play a crucial role in safeguarding our beach, ensuring the prevention of injuries, harm, and drowning incidents. With four rostered patrol teams during the summer season, we are always prepared to respond to any emergency.
We also offer a comprehensive Junior Surf program for children aged 4 to 13. This program focuses on building water confidence, surf safety awareness, and technical abilities in the surf. It is our mission to equip the younger generation with the necessary skills to enjoy the ocean safely.
To better serve the growing number of visitors to Pukehina Beach, we are excited to announce that we have plans for a new build design. However, we cannot achieve this without the support of our local community and businesses. Your contribution is crucial in raising funds for this important project, and we sincerely thank you for your continued support.
We would like to extend our gratitude to our sponsors, whose generosity enables us to carry out our mission effectively. Without their support, we would not be able to provide the level of service and safety that our beachgoers deserve.
If you have any questions or would like to get involved with Pukehina Surf Rescue, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We are always interested in hearing from those who share our passion for beach safety. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that Pukehina Beach remains a safe and enjoyable destination for everyone.

"You will see the most spectacular sunsets from the end of the Pukehina Road, that ends at Pukehina Surf Rescue. It has a good sized area for parking overnight for Self Contained motorhomes. Thank you for that Pukehina."
