We are also accredited by ACC to provide specialist care for complex accident-induced orthopaedic and bone problems. If you believe you require this service, please consult with your GP.
When scheduling a medical checkup, please specify the purpose so that we can allocate appropriate time for your appointment. Our consultations with GPs generally last for 15 minutes, but if you have multiple concerns, we recommend booking a 30-minute appointment to ensure sufficient time for discussion. Please note that additional charges may apply if a consultation exceeds the allotted time.
Our practice nurses play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care. They are proficient in handling medical inquiries, providing advice, checking blood pressure, managing asthma and diabetes, as well as assessing minor medical issues. They also offer services such as blood tests, cervical smears, child immunizations, and injury triage. To see a nurse directly, it is essential to make an appointment.
For insurance or employment medicals, please book a 30-minute appointment and anticipate charges. It is important to note that only the insurance medical aspect will be addressed during this appointment, and you will also need to see nursing staff.
Taradale Medical Centre is equipped to perform minor general surgeries, including the removal of moles, skin cancers, and ingrown toenails. These procedures require a separate appointment following an initial assessment visit, and charges may vary.
For our enrolled Taradale patients, we offer a nurse-led skin clinic. Our Clinical Nurse Specialist specializes in full-body skin examinations to identify any suspicious lesions. To avail of this service, please ring us and make an appointment. Kindly discuss the associated charges with our reception.
We are committed to providing sexual health checks for all individuals. Thanks to the support of the Hawkes Bay District Health Board, this service is free for those 18 years and younger. We also have specialist nurses who can further discuss your concerns with the medical staff if necessary.

"I think it's absolutely disgusting that the dr My mother saw "forgot" to send a referral for a scan they discussed at a previous appointment. Then when she mentioned it again it was like "oh what scan?" Don't you people make notes on your patients file? So if she didn't see the Dr again it would have been forgotten and she would be waiting for a forgotten scan. Real nice. It makes me worry for other patients too. So for other patients waiting on scan requests please ensure it's being processed."
"I live near Taradale Medical, so I am registered with them and have been for over 10 years. I find the service excellent. If I need to get in urgently I usually can, the staff are polite, caring, patient and friendly. I have Dr Michael Koch who is amazing. I use their online portal and he has even responded over a weekend when it has been urgent. Recently I saw an elderly lady bring in baking for a Dr there. I would highly recommend this service and the staff."
