Ashridge Road Playcentre

Welcome to Ashridge Road Playcentre! Located in Napier South, we have been an integral part of the local community for over 50 years. As a cooperative-run Centre, we strive to create a warm and inclusive environment for all families.

Our Centre boasts a spacious open plan play area, dedicated infant and crawler space, and a cozy library for our tamariki (children) and whānau (family) to enjoy. With a wide range of activities available, including painting, clay modeling, carpentry, cooking, blocks, and musical equipment, tamariki are encouraged to explore their interests and expand their knowledge.

In addition to our indoor facilities, our outdoor area features a shaded play area with a sandpit, movable playground equipment, and a mud kitchen. We believe in the importance of connecting with nature, which is why we are proud to be the only Play Centre in Hawkes Bay offering an outdoor Papatuanuku session on Thursday mornings. This session allows tamariki to learn and play in the natural environment, regardless of the weather.

At Ashridge Road Playcentre, we embrace the Playcentre philosophy of "whānau tupu ngātahi - families growing together." We welcome all whānau to join us on this journey of learning alongside their tamariki. Our Centre organizes regular field trips and social events, fostering a sense of community and engagement among our families. We also prioritize parent education, providing opportunities for parents to expand their knowledge and skills within the Centre.

Our sessions run on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday mornings from 9am to 12pm, accommodating tamariki aged from 0 to 6. Whether you are a new or experienced parent, we invite you and your family to experience the warmth and sense of belonging that Ashridge Road Playcentre offers.
