Greenmeadows Kindergarten

Welcome to Greenmeadows Kindergarten, located in the beautiful city of Napier on Osier Road. As an establishment and point of interest, we are proud to offer a nurturing and engaging learning environment for children.

At Greenmeadows Kindergarten, we believe in empowering children to lead their own learning. We provide them with a wide range of meaningful experiences, allowing them to play independently and cooperatively while demonstrating responsibility. Our teachers are dedicated to supporting and extending their learning within the environment. We prioritize creativity, literacy, and numeracy in our curriculum, with a strong focus on te Ao Māori, integrating these concepts into contexts that promote children's learning.

Our curriculum is designed to build upon the individual needs, strengths, and interests of each child. Since our previous evaluation, our teachers have developed and implemented an effective planning framework, incorporating a visual planning and assessment system. Through gathering multiple voices, we have created a curriculum statement that encompasses our philosophy and priorities for children's learning.

We value authentic learning partnerships with parents and whānau (extended family). We believe in the importance of acknowledging and valuing parents' aspirations for their children, and we integrate these aspirations into our assessment and planning processes. We encourage ownership of learning by both children and their families, and we appreciate the knowledge and contributions that whānau bring to their children's education.

Our vision is that learning is child's play and teaching is a passion. We strive to create an environment where children and parents look forward to their kindergarten experience. We believe that by fostering a love for learning and creating strong partnerships with families, we can provide a solid foundation for each child's educational journey.
