At Habitat on the Quay, we take pride in offering soul-satisfying food that is prepared with love and care using locally sourced, fresh ingredients. Our talented chef, Gurpreet, brings over 8 years of professional kitchen experience to create culinary masterpieces that will tantalize your taste buds. Trained at the prestigious Culinary School of Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT) at Hawkes Bay Campus, Gurpreet has honed his skills under the guidance of highly skilled chefs in the Hawkes Bay area.

But Gurpreet's passion for cooking began long before his professional journey. As a young boy in India, he learned the art of cooking from his dear Grandma Rama, who believed that love was the key ingredient in every dish. This early experience shaped Gurpreet's culinary style, and he continues to experiment with flavors and techniques inspired by his Indian heritage and his travels around the world.

Our restaurant offers a unique setting overlooking the Estuary, where you can dine "alfresco" during the summer months and witness breathtaking sunsets over the distant ranges. The relaxed and casual atmosphere at Habitat on the Quay makes it the perfect choice for family dinners, birthday celebrations, business meetings, and even Christmas parties.

For larger groups, we have three excellent set menus with various options and prices. And if you need accommodation for your function, our neighboring Marineland Motel can arrange special packages for you.

While we love to see you in person, we also understand the importance of enjoying our meals in the comfort of your own home. That's why we have carefully packaged our meals to ensure that the quality remains intact even when you choose to take them away. We refuse to compromise on quality and only source our ingredients from local farmers' markets, guaranteeing that you are always eating the best of the season.

In addition to our dinner service, we are now open for lunch on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm. Come and indulge in our delicious lunch menu while enjoying the stunning views of the Estuary.
