Our accommodation features four spacious deluxe rooms, each offering twin or king-size beds, ensuite bathrooms with power showers, air-conditioning, elegant décor, and private outdoor living areas. All rooms boast stunning views of Lake Karapiro and Mt Maungatautari, providing a picturesque backdrop for your stay.

For those seeking the ultimate indulgence, our two upper-level prestige rooms offer a generous 80m2 of space. Equipped with super-king beds, luxury bathrooms, and expansive picture windows, these rooms offer panoramic views of both the lake and the surrounding countryside. Step out onto your private balcony and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature.

In May 2022, Jan & Colin Pauling took over ownership of Lake Karapiro Lodge, and they are dedicated to upholding the exceptional standards set by the previous owners. As the lodge is also their home, they personally ensure a peaceful environment and stunning views all year round, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests.

At Lake Karapiro Lodge, we pride ourselves on offering a high standard of amenity and service. Relax in the Drawing Room, featuring a grand Victorian fireplace and opulent plastered ceiling, where you can enjoy a glass of wine in front of an open fire, read a book, or listen to your favorite music. Complimentary tea and coffee are available at all times, and we offer a selection of local beers and wines for purchase.

Take a leisurely stroll through our gardens, which showcase New Zealand's natural heritage and cultural landscape. Our native garden combines endangered and uncommon native species with exotic flowering perennials, creating a harmonious blend of beauty and conservation.

For those seeking relaxation, our pool area provides a secluded oasis for guests to unwind and enjoy some privacy. The pool is heated to a comfortable 22 degrees from November through April, while the spa offers a soothing temperature of 38.5 degrees.

Lake Karapiro holds a rich history as a world-class rowing venue, with the creation of the lake dating back to the completion of the Karapiro hydroelectric dam in 1947. Today, the lake is a hub for various water sports and activities during the summer months, adding to the allure of our location.
