“ALL staff were friendly. Rooms are comfortable, location perfect. We traveled for the Warriors game and accom was conveniently just walk to the stadium. Breakfast was beautifully presented and a nice start to the day. This is my second stay and won't be my last.”

“They have a good selection beers on tap. Local favorites like waikato draught, red lion, speights. Good prices for beer. Lots of slot machines in the back and a TAB machine in the front. A few people are there pretty regularly and seem pretty friendly. The bartenders are friendly and competent.”

“Stopped in to visit Kim but she was rostered off, so we will be happy to visit again. On arriving it reeks historical charm, peaceful quiet, the dog wandering around the carpark the cat lazing on the porch at the back. And the fire was welcoming inside. A nice little hidden gem that hasn't been ruined by modern day architecture.”

“This is an older place but in good condition and well maintained. Included a cooked breakfast. The stand out was they heated my wife's pumpkin soup that I brought with me. It is pretty difficult finding food I can eat so really impressed with this service.”

“Absolutely loved our time at the hot spring pool! The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The 80s music playing in the background added a fun and nostalgic touch to the experience. What stood out was the careful water maintenance – minimal chlorine and sulfur smell, making the soaking truly relaxing. The different pool temperatures catered to all our preferences, and the large pool with the little cannon-like side was a hit with our boys. The real stars of the show were the waterslides – the fastest and longest in NZ, and they didn't disappoint! The rush of the "Kamikaze" slide and the excitement of the longest slide were beyond words. You can adjust the speed, if it gets too fast for you. We were trying to get it all from the slides, hence the speed fraction bruises here and there ;) but the bum-sliding challenge worth it (I won!!!) The only hiccup was the ice-cold shower, which felt more like a challenge, especially on a dark winter evening after enjoying the hot pools. But in a way, it added to the adventure! The bonus of having playgrounds, an aviary with peacocks, parrots, and doves, as well as free-range funky chickens, gave the place a unique charm. As a family with three boys, we had over five hours of non-stop fun. If you're looking for a great time, this hot spring pool is a definite winner. We're already planning our next visit!”

Steve kindly fixed a flat tyre we had and even gave us some grapefruit upon checking out.
