Grow Early Education
About the Business
Welcome to Grow Early Education, a privately owned childcare and kindergarten located in the beautiful area of St Kilda, Cambridge. At Grow, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional care and education for young children. Our knowledgeable and experienced owners, who are also registered teachers, are actively involved in the day-to-day activities and interactions with our Grow tamariki (children) and their families.
At Grow Early Education, we believe that positive and respectful relationships between whānau (family), teachers, and centre owners are essential for a nurturing and supportive environment. Our teachers work collaboratively to ensure the best interests of the children are met. They actively engage with the children, supporting their play and promoting problem-solving skills through open-ended questions. Our teachers have caring and respectful relationships with both the children and their families, using positive guidance strategies to enhance children's social competence. We ensure that all children's care needs are well met, and some of our teachers naturally incorporate te ao Māori (Māori world) into our program and physical environment.
Children at Grow Early Education engage in a broad and rich curriculum that is responsive to their interests. Our program provides a sense of security and structure through set routine times, while also integrating mathematics, literacy, and science through play. We extend our program by organizing excursions into the local and wider community, giving children a chance to explore and learn from the world around them. Our comprehensive assessment, planning, and evaluation focus on dispositional learning, showcasing children's development over time. With a wide variety of high-quality resources available, children are encouraged to initiate purposeful activities and enhance their physical skills.
For children up to the age of two, we provide a calm and unhurried environment where they can develop caring and nurturing relationships with their teachers. We respect and incorporate parent care preferences to create a seamless transition between home and the centre, fostering a strong sense of belonging for babies and toddlers.
At Grow Early Education, we have an inclusive approach to supporting children with additional health and learning needs. Our centre owners and teachers work closely with parents and whānau to ensure these children's specific needs are met. We access external expertise and guidance to fully include these children in our program.
Our centre owners provide effective governance and leadership, with a strong focus on positive outcomes for children. We maintain low child-to-teacher ratios, ensuring each child receives individual attention. Our teaching staff is highly qualified and experienced, and we continuously invest in their professional development. Through our robust appraisal system, we strive to enhance teacher capability. Additionally, we have established valuable partnerships, including our participation in the Te Puna o Kemureti Community of Learning|Kāhui Ako and our connections with the local Māori community. We have developed a comprehensive policy and systems framework to guide our centre operations.
Join our Grow Early Education family, and we promise to go above and beyond for your family. Experience the exceptional care and education we provide, where positive relationships, responsive curriculum, and inclusive practices are at the heart of everything we do.

Reviews
"This place is amazing. Our daughter loves going and we love taking her. The teaching staff are great and really care about the children and their learning as well as keeping a lovely environment for the children to be in. Grow also takes child centred learning to the next level, working with what the kids love and are interested in."
"Grow Early Education is passion driven for delivering excellence in the care and education of infants, toddlers and those in their preschool years. With knowledgeable, experienced and friendly staff who are driven towards delivering quality, they don't compromise on the quality received for each child. Children don't have to compete with other children for attention, group sizes are smaller, there are more teachers per small group of children and relationships are valued. Connections made with their wider environment nurtures a sense of social responsibility and everyone loves it! Whether it be to the wetlands, the St Kilda playground, the Bupa Retirement village or to the local pools, connecting to something bigger than yourself and having that contribution valued is a wonderful thing."
