"In the spring, this place is heavenly. I haven’t been here in a number of years, but caught a lovely still spring day. The scent of the rhododendrons and azaleas, and the contrast with the native paintings was magnificent. These gardens are very well cared for. I highly recommend a visit. Suggest you go, as I did, as soon as you can after university lectures have finished. Then the parking is easy and probably free. You can park at the University club and you are right there."
"Stunning. Really nice gardens to walk around, especially with all the flowers in bloom. Nice easy walks for the kids. Worth a look!"
"The rhododendrons and azaleas are stunning. Well worth a visit"
"I am Gardens are the rather charming setting for the Ilam Homestead and part of the park-like campus of Canterbury University. Great for recalibrating with green plants, water sounds and well oxygenated air. My favourite lunch time walk."
"Beautiful gardens located opposite university of Canterbury UCSA parking lot. On bus route and parking available near the restaurant. Small tracks inside the gardens with bridges and lawns, a rugby field hidden at the back of the house. Great for picnic or quick stroll, easy access for pram and wheelchair."
