At Juanine Lim Counselling, I bring a unique perspective to my practice. Born in South Africa and having lived across Asia, I now call New Zealand my home. This global perspective has given me a deeper understanding of humanity and a profound appreciation for the diverse cultures that shape our identities.

From a young age, I knew that I wanted to become a therapist. Friends would often confide in me and trust me with their deepest concerns, sparking my curiosity about human behavior and the underlying motivations behind it. This led me to pursue studies in Psychology and Anthropology, allowing me to merge my passions and gain a comprehensive understanding of the human psyche.

I hold a deep respect for culture and identity, recognizing that while culture is learned and shared, our individuality is what makes us truly unique. By incorporating these concepts of "self," I aim to understand who you are and who you aspire to be. Together, we will delicately piece together the puzzle of your being, creating a path towards personal growth and self-acceptance.

With extensive experience in addressing various issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, suicide prevention, sexual harm, neurodiversity, child and adolescent therapy, and family care, I am well-equipped to provide effective support. I primarily utilize two therapeutic approaches: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a focus on neuropsychology advancements and a Person-Centered approach. Both approaches emphasize the transformative and renewing power of the mind.
