Welcome to Active Explorers Tai Tapu, a childcare centre that your family will love. Located in the close-knit community of Tai Tapu, just ten minutes from Halswell and Lincoln, our establishment is a haven where kids are encouraged to wonder, imagine, discover, and create.

Nestled in a beautiful natural environment, our centre offers plenty of space and top-quality resources for your little ones. With two separate classrooms – the Preschool/Nursery for children aged 0-3 years and the Prep Room for children aged 3-5 years – we provide a home away from home for your children. Our dedicated team of well-qualified and highly experienced teachers create a warm, respectful, and caring environment where children can thrive.

At Active Explorers Tai Tapu, we believe in providing rich programs that are woven with dynamic learning opportunities. These programs keep kids engaged and inspired, setting them on the right path for a lifetime of learning.

We are open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, offering both half-day and full-day options. Please note that we are closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

Parents rave about the progress their children make at our centre. Max (6) and Poppy (4) have thoroughly enjoyed their time here, and their parents have been impressed with their development. Our supportive and kind teachers go the extra mile to make every day special, with field trips, dress-up days, sports days, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and an end-of-year Christmas party.

Our centre boasts a spacious outdoor area, perfect for children to explore and play. Our staff members have built strong relationships with both parents and children, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive environment. We are proud of our recent partnership with Tai Tapu Primary School, where our older children have the opportunity to visit regularly. Additionally, having the new entrant teacher come to our preschool to provide lessons is invaluable for our little learners.

We are excited to introduce Story Park and group stories, which enhance communication and engagement with parents. Our team also provides individualized support to cater to each child's unique needs, ensuring their growth and development.

At Active Explorers Tai Tapu, we strive to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Parents have expressed their happiness with our centre, noting that their children eagerly look forward to their time here and come home excitedly sharing stories of their fun-filled days. Our manager and staff members are all lovely, enthusiastic, and dedicated to providing the best care for your children.

Effective from 1 April 2023, more families will be eligible for subsidy, and the hourly subsidy rates will also increase. We are committed to making quality childcare accessible to as many families as possible.

As we celebrate the wonderful ladies in our lives, we also want to highlight our partnership with Growing Kiwi Gardeners. Their vision is to be the leading provider of sustainable gardening and professional development programs for early childhood services in Aotearoa New Zealand. We are proud to host their sessions at Active Explorers Tai Tapu.
