"I thought it would be cold in the South Island in winter, but instead it was sunny and tree-lined. I'm in Lincoln, staying at Chateau Pritchard. It's not far from Christchurch, but it's quieter than Christchurch. There's a famous university here, Lincoln University. It is easy to drive to various attractions from here. The owners are an amiable couple with their gentle dog. I loved walking barefoot on the grass in their garden in the morning, listening to the birds singing and soaking up the sun. At night we sat in the open-air SPA bathtub and looked up at the skyfull of stars. Barbara, the owner of the house, a lady with a sweet smile, can cook all kinds of delicious food. During our stay, she gave us a lot of help, just like our relatives. I highly recommend it and would choose to stay here next time if I had the chance."
