Cancer Society
About the Business
Welcome to the Cancer Society, located at Rolleston, Kidman Street, 6B in New Zealand. As an establishment dedicated to health and well-being, we are a vital point of interest for those affected by cancer. Our institution offers support and information for individuals dealing with various types of cancer, including those that have spread to the bone(s), brain, liver, and lung(s), as well as cancer of unknown primary.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has already supported us in our mission. With your help, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. We encourage you to share your loved one's story and invite your family and friends to support your page, as together we can raise funds to provide assistance and support for those impacted by this devastating disease.
We are pleased to announce that the Cancer Society of New Zealand has welcomed the commitment made by the National Party to fund 13 crucial cancer treatments if elected. However, we also hope that this funding will extend to include infrastructure that supports this important initiative.
One of our significant events is Daffodil Day, which will take place on Friday, August 25th. On this day, 8000 dedicated volunteers will hit the streets across the country to collect funds that will help the Cancer Society continue its crucial work, ensuring that no one faces cancer alone.
In addition, the Cancer Society of New Zealand is currently preparing for its Daffodil Day street appeal. This annual event is a cornerstone of our fundraising efforts and enables us to continue providing support and resources to those affected by cancer.
Research conducted by the University of Otago has highlighted the challenges faced by cancer survivors, who often deal with a range of psycho-social and physical issues. Unfortunately, support for these individuals is limited. At the Cancer Society, we strive to bridge this gap by offering a comprehensive support network for survivors.
We are also excited to announce that Hei Āhuru Mōwai (Māori Cancer Leadership Aotearoa) and Te Kāhui Matepukupuku o Aotearoa (the Cancer Society of New Zealand) are now accepting applications for the third annual round of the Māori Cancer Researcher Awards. This initiative aims to support and empower Māori researchers in their efforts to advance cancer research.
At the Cancer Society, we firmly believe in the power of humor and hope in our daily lives. We are dedicated to changing the world, one head of hair at a time, and we understand that while cancer may change us, it can also lead to personal growth and positive transformations.
If you are interested in getting involved and supporting the Cancer Society, we encourage you to explore our website and find out how you can make a difference. Together, we can create a community of support and compassion for those affected by cancer.
