Welcome to Heather Watson Counsellor, located in Rolleston, New Zealand. As a Wellbeing Counsellor, I offer face-to-face counselling services by appointment at my rooms in Rolleston. My approach is person-centred, meaning that I prioritize the individual and treat them as a person first. Rather than focusing on their condition or disability, I believe in empowering individuals to discover their strengths and abilities.

I specialize in working with individuals, adults, and teenagers who are facing challenges related to Grief, Anxiety, Depression, Gender, Sexuality, Parenting, Crisis Intervention, and Life Transitions. My goal is to establish a positive therapeutic relationship with each client, creating a safe and nurturing space that fosters trust and rapport.

With over five years of experience living abroad and the majority of my life spent in Canterbury, I am deeply connected to the community and understand the unique needs of individuals in this area. I currently reside in the Selwyn district with my husband, and I am the proud mother of two independent adult daughters, who share their lives with their beloved cats.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked for twenty years as a staff supporter for an Employee Assistance Provider, where I assisted individuals facing various life challenges. This experience has provided me with a solid foundation in the mental health care industry.

I hold a Diploma in Counselling from ARA (formerly CPIT) and am committed to continuing my professional development to ensure I provide the highest level of care to my clients.
