Welcome to Te Whare Rama Early Learning Centre Lyttelton St, located in the heart of Christchurch, New Zealand. Our center has been providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for children and families since 1990.

At our Lyttelton St site, we cater to children aged from infancy to preschool. With 16 children in the nursery and 25 in the preschool, we ensure each child receives the individual attention they need to thrive. As children reach approximately 3.5 years old, they seamlessly transition to our Cobham Street site, conveniently located next door.

Our nursery boasts a covered verandah with a sandpit, allowing children to enjoy outdoor play and exploration all year round. We believe in providing a comprehensive and age-appropriate curriculum, ensuring that each child's developmental needs are met every day.

At Te Whare Rama, we prioritize creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all children and families. We strive to provide a safe space where children can confidently explore, learn, and grow. Our center fosters respect for the environment, and children actively participate in planting and harvesting vegetable gardens, cultivating a sense of responsibility and connection to nature.

We pride ourselves on our diverse and qualified teaching staff. Many of our teachers are fluent in NZ Sign Language and Te ao Māori, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to learn and appreciate different cultures. We integrate meaningful use of te reo me ngā tikanga Māori into our program, promoting cultural understanding and appreciation.

At Te Whare Rama, we welcome children of all backgrounds and abilities. We provide support for parents of children with diverse needs, offering tailored care and guidance. We also organize parent evenings and whānau events, creating opportunities for families to connect and engage with our community.
