Approved by the Council, a visionary master plan has been set in motion to ensure that Queen Elizabeth II Park becomes a harmonious blend of natural beauty and functional structures. This plan aims to seamlessly connect the environment and buildings, creating an exceptional space that caters to the needs and desires of our beloved community.
While some developments are currently unfunded, progress will be dependent on budget allocations in future Council Long Term Plans. However, the first stage of this exciting venture has already secured a staggering $3.4 million in funding. This initial phase will introduce a delightful playground, designed to ignite the imaginations of children and adults alike.
Imagine your little ones embarking on a thrilling adventure, as they uncover hidden treasures in the sandpit, equipped with a fascinating digger and buried 'fossils'. Watch their laughter soar to new heights as they swing on the basket swing, ride the wooden horses, and slide down the exhilarating tube slide. Planning for this eagerly anticipated first stage commenced in July 2019, ensuring that every detail is meticulously crafted to perfection. But that's not all! Reviews of Queen Elizabeth II Park
"Kids loved this place hydroslides r awsome thanks guys didn't know you could hire the slide out for how ever long ya wanted. Good area for the little kids. All the usual suspects sauna spa lane pools ect."
"Staff are great without a doubt. However, We come here every weekend for swimming lessons for the kids and more often than not they are at capacity. So we have to wait around. I'm not sure if it's a staffing issue or just because the council loves to down size everything post earthquake but either way it's unsatisfactory."
"Great for exercise, spa sauna steam room all inclusive of a pool pass. Swimming lessons for little ones .My grandaughter is 5 now been swimming for 3 yrs .."
"If you want to swim, gym or relax with the kids, then QEII Recreation and Sport Centre covers everything. We went there for swimming. It think it's a biggest recreation centre in Christchurch. One of my friend told me that it was constructed for Commonwealth games. It has Fitness Centre , Indoor Pool, Leisure Pool and hydro-slides. For hydro-slides, you have to pay 7 dollars extra. Enough parking space is available."
