Welcome Bay School

Welcome to Welcome Bay School, located in Tauranga, New Zealand. Our school is a primary school that serves as a point of interest and an establishment in the community.

At Welcome Bay School, our vision is "Ma te huruhuru ka rere te manu / Adorn the bird with feathers so that it can fly." This vision guides us in our collective responsibility as a learning community for our tamariki/children. We strive to create a learning culture and environment that supports our children in their lives and their learning.

We believe in the power of collaboration and evidence-based decision making. By working together and using data to inform our practices, we ensure that our children receive the best possible education. We also place a strong emphasis on developing a positive school culture, where success is celebrated and children are supported in their learning and behavior.

Inclusivity is a core value at Welcome Bay School. We warmly welcome parents and whānau to join us on the "learning journey" with our teachers and students. We believe that by fostering a sense of whānau, community, and belonging, we can help our children thrive in their lives and learning.

Our school is well-governed by a united and supportive Board of Trustees who represent our diverse community. We are excited to be experiencing significant growth, reflecting years of hard work and focus. This is an exciting time in the life of our school, and we are proud of the progress we have made.

We also want to inform you of our term dates. Our first term runs from Wednesday 26 April to Friday 30 June, with a Teacher Only Day on 24 April and Anzac Day on 25 April. Our second term runs from Monday 9 October to Friday 15 December.
