"I did the evening kayaking to Rangitoto Island in June. It was the start of winter and I was apprehensive abt kayaking back in the night but I definitely had a great (but exhausting) time. Our guide was really patient and would ask if we needed breaks throughout. Even while navigating waves in the night, he seemed to know what he was doing and that was reassuring. We also got to see a bit of the bioluminescent plankton on the way back! If you're thinking of doing this, it's best to have a moderate level of fitness."

"I hired rollerblades for an hour. The man working there was very friendly and helpful and the rollerblades (I'm by no means an expert) felt high quality. I had a great time skating up to the beach past mission beach and I am very proud that I didn't fall over. It was a great way to see some of Auckland beach's."
