Welcome to Abuse Prevention Services, where we strive to create a community free from abuse. Located in the beautiful town of Warkworth, on Queen Street, our establishment is dedicated to promoting health and well-being for individuals and families affected by family violence or abuse.

At Abuse Prevention Services, we understand that many women face abuse in their relationships, whether it be physical, emotional, verbal, sexual, or financial. That's why we have developed our Safety Services Programme specifically for women experiencing abuse. Our trained and authorized women facilitators are experienced in working with the issues that affect women's lives, providing education and support to help them heal from trauma and make positive changes.

If you are looking for ways to improve your relationships and find yourself struggling with anger or regretful behaviors, our men's programme is designed for you. We offer a safe space for men to learn positive strategies and make lasting changes in their lives.

Children and youth are often the unseen victims of family abuse, experiencing trauma and displaying signs of stress. Our facilitators are fully trained and have extensive experience working with children and young people. They possess a wide range of skills related to family violence/abuse, child protection, adolescent issues, and childhood trauma, ensuring that they can provide the support and guidance needed to help children and young people heal.

All our Counselling staff are current members of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors, ensuring that you receive the highest quality of care and support. We offer our services in Orewa, Warkworth, Wellsford, and Helensville, making it convenient for individuals and families in the wider Rodney/Hibiscus Coast areas to access our support.

Abuse Prevention Services is proud to be a member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors and the Te Rito Rodney Family Violence Network. We are also approved by the Ministry of Justice and Child Youth and Family, ensuring that our services meet the highest standards.

Established in 1994, Abuse Prevention Services Inc (APS) has been working tirelessly to provide educational programs and counseling support to both perpetrators and victims of domestic violence and abuse. We collaborate with other social services in our area to create a society where all people in Rodney/Hibiscus Coast can live free from abuse. Our clients come from various areas, including Wellsford, Helensville, Warkworth, Orewa, and the Hibiscus Coast, and we receive referrals from community and statutory agencies as well as self-referrals.
