Welcome to the Measurement Standards Lab, located at Lower Hutt, Gracefield Road, 69 in New Zealand. As New Zealand's premier establishment for measurement standards, we are proud to be affiliated with the Measurement Standards Laboratory of New Zealand (MSL), which serves as New Zealand's national metrology institute.

At MSL, our primary responsibility is to provide accurate and reliable measurement standards in accordance with the International System of Units (SI). We understand that modern society simply could not exist without measurement, as it forms the foundation for various industries and scientific advancements.

Our team of experts from around the globe are at the forefront of the quantum revolution, constantly pushing the boundaries of measurement technology. In fact, we are thrilled to announce that New Zealand will be hosting a major electromagnetic metrology conference in 2022, bringing together leading minds in the field.

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have recognized the importance of infrared thermometers and thermal imagers for accurate temperature readings. We are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community, and we are actively exploring the use of these tools in the fight against the virus.

Moreover, MSL has introduced an apprenticeship style approach to develop new talent in the field of metrology. We believe in nurturing the next generation of measurement experts and providing them with hands-on experience to excel in their careers.
