Raphael House Kindergarten

Welcome to Raphael House Kindergarten, located at 27 Matuhi Street in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. As a fully qualified Early Childhood Education Centre, we are dedicated to providing meaningful learning experiences for children aged 4 to 6 years.

Situated in a beautiful bush setting, our kindergarten offers a warm and homelike environment where children can freely play and learn. We believe in the power of daily and seasonal rhythms to support their development, creating a sense of stability and familiarity.

At Raphael House Kindergarten, we place great importance on the partnership between home and kindergarten. By working closely with parents and caregivers, we establish a solid foundation for each child's learning journey in early childhood and beyond. We follow the Steiner Waldorf pedagogy, which focuses on nurturing the whole child, ensuring a holistic approach to teaching and learning.

With a license to accommodate up to 50 children, our three classroom spaces - Pōhutukawa, Rimu, and Kōwhai - are led by experienced teachers who are passionate about early childhood education. They create a nurturing environment that fosters growth, curiosity, and creativity.

One of the unique advantages of attending Raphael House Kindergarten is the seamless transition to Raphael House Rudolf Steiner School. This continuity of education allows children to build upon the foundations established at our kindergarten, ensuring a smooth and successful progression into their primary years.

As part of our commitment to quality education, Raphael House Kindergarten undergoes regular evaluations by the Education Review Office (ERO), which is the New Zealand government's external evaluation agency. ERO assesses and reports on the education and care provided to learners in various educational settings, including early childhood services like ours.
