One of the main highlights of Truby King Park is its close proximity to the Wellington Botanic Garden. Spanning across 25 hectares, this beautiful garden showcases specialized plant collections, vibrant botanical displays, and a stunning landscape. Reviews of Truby King Park
"Consider changing the name if you don't want a beautiful area to be tied to a disgusting eugenicist"
"Great views of Lyall Bay and lovely piece of Wellington history. Nothing nearly as large or elaborate as the botanical gardens but it’s well maintained and cared for. The house is only available for tours via appointments or on a few special days a year. Would be a good place to take kids to watch the planes take off."
"My curiosity is piqued. But I was left pondering whether botanic level paths, trimmed bushes, retaining walls and terraces actually exist if no one is there to experience them? I'm not so sure. Will return at a different time to try to uncover any relevancy it may have."
"Slightly disappointing to visit as although the garden is of a reasonable size it isn't very well kept and a lot of it is on a steeply sloping bank meaning access will be a problem for some visitors. This coupled with the fact there is only street parking available and that the house is not open for visitors mean that it is not really worth a special trip."
"Beautiful quiet spot. Didnt see another soul anywhere near me whole time i was here. Definitely a hidden wellington gem. I walked through on the southern walkway hike (google maps has it drawn wrong on their maps - follow pink markers). Gorgeous views from here overlooking welly airport. Drops one star as place feels a little unattended."
