Grampians Integrated Cancer Service

Welcome to Grampians Integrated Cancer Service (GICS), a leading establishment in the health sector located in Ballarat Central, Drummond Street North. As a point of interest, we are dedicated to improving outcomes for Victorians affected by cancer.

At GICS, we strive to provide the best possible care and support to our community. We have recently closed applications for our 2023 Grants Program, and our dedicated team, along with members of our Consumer Advisory Group, have carefully reviewed each application received. We are pleased to announce the successful applicants who will receive funding as part of our Grants Program, which aims to implement service improvement ideas.

One of our current initiatives involves the implementation of a sustainable telehealth model for the Medical Oncology Outpatients unit at the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC). We are actively recruiting Service Improvement Facilitators with experience in project management and collaborating with stakeholders. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of cancer patients, we encourage you to apply before the closing date on Monday, 11 September 2023.

In addition to our grants program, we are also welcoming and supporting Professional Development Grant applications from the Grampians region multidisciplinary cancer workforce. Applications are open until 30 June 2024, and eligibility criteria apply.

We are excited to announce that our Annual Forum is scheduled for Tuesday, 17 October 2023. This year, the event will be held virtually, allowing clinicians to attend during their lunch breaks. Stay tuned for further updates on how to register your attendance once we have finalized the details.

At GICS, we understand the importance of providing specialized care for older individuals with cancer. That's why we have developed the VICS Care of the Older Person Toolkit, which offers valuable information to help health services and ICS improve the care of older patients. The toolkit includes resources such as how-to guides, education opportunities, and patient resources, as well as examples of existing geriatric oncology services.

Lastly, we would like to express our gratitude to the Victorian Government for their support of the Victorian Integrated Cancer Services. We also acknowledge and pay respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the Traditional Custodians of the land.
