As part of the Lucas Community Hub, our kindergarten is easily accessible from suburbs in the growth area of Ballarat West. Our convenient location is co-located with Maternal and Child Health, offering visiting services such as early childhood intervention and family services on-site.

At Lucas Kindergarten, we prioritize the development of personal independence, self-awareness, and self-worth in children. We provide them with opportunities to build warm, caring, and respectful relationships and friendships with their peers and adults. Understanding that a child's work is their play, our kindergarten program is play-based and child-centered. We foster learning through the children's own ideas and experiences, incorporating these into their play development. Our routines are guided by the children themselves.

Lucas Kindergarten proudly displays the Kinder Tick, ensuring families feel confident that our program is recognized as a funded kindergarten program. We offer free 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten programs, with each program running 15 hours a week. Our multiple groups provide families with the flexibility to enroll in a group that best suits their needs.

Excursions and incursions play a vital role in our curriculum, allowing children to explore the world around them and feel connected to their community. Through our Bush Kinder program, children experience uninterrupted play in natural settings, learning about local flora and fauna through exploration and discovery.

We also provide a multicultural curriculum, celebrating a variety of cultural events throughout the year. Families are encouraged to share their values, skills, and traditions to enrich the children's learning experience. Through Storypark, an online platform, our educators can connect with parents, sharing news, updates, progress, and exciting moments from kinder to home.
