Welcome to the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House, a community-managed charity located at Barkly Square in Ballarat East, Australia. Situated alongside 20 other incredible organizations, we are dedicated to creating community connections, promoting mental health, and preventing social isolation in the broader Ballarat East area.

At the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House, we offer a wide range of affordable activities and groups that provide opportunities for social connection. Whether you're interested in joining a watercolor class, a drawing group, cooking classes, or learning computer skills, we have something for everyone. We also offer gentle yoga, Auslan - Sign Language, and hypnotherapy-meditation classes.

In addition to our regular classes, we host free community activities at Barkly Square. These include playgroup sessions, Chatty Wednesdays, Winter Woollies events, and a walking group. These activities are designed to bring the community together and provide a supportive environment for individuals to engage in meaningful activities.

As a community-focused organization, we provide support in various areas. We assist individuals in applying for the $250 Power Saving Bonus, offer community road safety programs in partnership with VicRoads, and promote digital literacy as a Be Connected Network Partner. We are also proud to host the Safe Seats Safe Kids program, prioritizing the safety and well-being of our community.

The Ballarat East Neighbourhood House is unique in that we operate across two locations in Ballarat East. Our main hub is at Barkly Square, where our team office is located, and we host activities in our Community Room and throughout the building. Additionally, we offer yoga and Alexander Technique classes at the Eureka Centre near the Eureka Pool, although there are no staff on-site.

We actively encourage volunteers and students to join us in delivering opportunities for our community to connect, participate, and learn. Your involvement can make a significant impact on the lives of those we serve.

At the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House, we prioritize the empowerment of children as vital and active members of our community. We involve them in decision-making processes that affect them and are committed to ensuring their safety and well-being. Our Child Safe Policies are available online, demonstrating our dedication to fulfilling our legal and moral obligations.
