Goldfields Cycle Sports Club
About the Business
Welcome to Goldfields Cycle Sports Club, located at 41 High Street in Bendigo, Australia. Our establishment is more than just a bar, cafe, and night club - we are a hub for sports enthusiasts, a point of interest for locals and tourists alike, and a store where you can find everything you need for your cycling journey.
But we are not just any sports club. We are a Not for Profit organization, dedicated to supporting the cycling community and giving back to the sport we love. That's why we are proud to introduce the Jason Lowndes Scholarship. Named after the talented young cyclist who tragically lost his life in a car accident, this scholarship aims to assist young cyclists in furthering their careers. Jason was a remarkable individual, known for his kindness, generosity, and infectious spirit. We are honored to work with the Lowndes Family to carry on his legacy.
When you visit Goldfields Cycle Sports Club, you can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our friendly staff will assist you in any way possible to ensure your experience is enjoyable and stress-free. Whether you are joining us for a special occasion, a casual meal, or simply to relax and unwind, we have the perfect space for you. Our function area is ideal for intimate gatherings and celebrations.
While we strive to provide a safe and enjoyable environment, we also have a unique story to share. In April 2021, a rogue tire from a passing 4WD vehicle made its way through our venue, bouncing through the cafe, lounge, and bar, before finally coming to a rest in the gaming area. Thankfully, no one was injured, and the damage was minimal. It was a crazy incident that added a touch of excitement to our history.
Speaking of history, our building, known as the City Family Hotel, has been a beloved part of Bendigo's landscape since 1872. Designed by renowned architect William Vahland, it holds a special place in the hearts of locals. Many have fond memories of working, drinking, partying, or even getting married here. We are committed to creating new memories and preserving the legacy of this iconic establishment for another 150 years.
So whether you're a cycling enthusiast, looking for a great place to eat and drink, or simply want to explore a piece of Bendigo's heritage, Goldfields Cycle Sports Club is the place to be. Join us and experience the camaraderie, excitement, and passion that defines our vibrant community. And don't forget, you could even win $500 in Coles Myer Gift cards* just by visiting us!
We can't wait to welcome you to Goldfields Cycle Sports Club, where sports, culture, and community converge in the heart of Bendigo.

"Enjoyed the best coffee in years.... Service was equally fantastic. Sadly, the breakfast/luncheon menu is overwhelmed, for the lack of kitchen facilities, hence food cold but not the staffs fault more designed issue's"
"Wonderful, helpfull staff. Lovely to go to an unknown place and find friendly faces!"
"My partner and l called in for breakfast, the lady who served us was very friendly.. I ordered the Squealing French Toast with bacon and my partner ordered egg and bacon roll with tomato relish.. We both liked our meals although some parts of the bacon were overdone, over all it was very tasty especially the toasted corn sourdough bread. The cafe was filled with memorabilia and it had a homely feel.. Recommend"
"Staff members are rude, guy that works behind the bar made my partner feel very uneasy due to his Consistent staring/looking her up and down.. We left the venue due to that and will not be back. Will also be telling everyone i know to not go there aswell."
"Underwhelming, dropped in Sunday afternoon for coffee and cake. Won't bother again! I asked for a long black with cream on the side, young lady said that would be fine. Paid, sat and waited. Long black came out, with a sorry no cream but I can froth up some milk. I don't drink milk, nor black coffee so I asked that the coffee be taken away. coffee was removed without even an offer of a refund. Clearly the focus here is the gaming venue not the cafe."
