"Came all the way from Queensland for the Tasmania Track Carnival and was the least favourite of tracks. $25 entry is pricey if you want to bring spectators to such a great event. Also after an hour drive needing the bathroom the club denied me entry through the competitors entrance because the spectators entry was closed, I just needed to pee!! The Launceston competitions could learn a lot from Devonport, Hobart and Burnie races. Will definitely leave a lot nicer review for those local cycling clubs."
"The Silverdome is a great regional indoor sports venue but there are a few improvements that could be made to bring it up to 21st century standard, and they should be pretty simple to do. One of the main points would be catering. Having attended a number of basketball games now I have observed waiting times for food need not be as lengthy as they have been. Currently if you wish to purchase a bottle of water, soft drink or confectionary you are held up waiting for staff to take orders from people wishing to purchase hot food. This could be better managed by having a line for drinks and snacks then a line for catered orders. There were two lines at the Harlem Globetrotters Show, but unfortunately they were both operating the same as one another. Alternatively vending machines could be introduced for snacks and drinks. It would not only reduce waiting times but also clear space in the foyer to create ease of movement throughout the facility. On another note, I'd suggest wearing good walking shoes to events here as some of the steps are difficult to navigate as is the carpark (which to the credit of the operator is free) however it's hilly with a lot of vegetation, gravel and ditches that might cause injury if you're not careful. Overall it's a good venue and locals are lucky to have it. The suggestions I have made would make it operate more efficiently."
"Even with a crowd of over 3500 attending the NBL basketball it was free parking right at the venue, with access so well organised we were driving home via the special freeway exit with no delays, amazing. Beautiful bush setting for a city venue."
"As far as a sporting venue goes, it's great. Seats are comfortable enough and toilets are clean but the venue needs better food options. Vending machines might help and it may be up to whoever is running an event to organise food trucks/coffee vans etc, but one canteen to cater to hundreds of people is not enough."
